Partial Meal Replacement/Short-Term Program


The short-term Optifast Program is a partial meal replacement program designed for individuals who need to lose 20 to 40 pounds and gain control of their eating habits.  The short-term program follows the principle of stimuli narrowing, by replacing regular meals with meal replacements (shakes, soups and bars) in order to   control calorie intake and body weight. This partial meal replacement plan is easy to follow and accommodates busy schedules. The program is offered in 6 week increments. During that time, you will come to our office   bi-weekly for nutritional counseling and health assessments (Body Fat %, BMI, Blood Pressure, etc). At the end of each 6 weeks, you can enroll for 6 more weeks until you have met your goal weight. The total amount of time spent using the Optifast program varies from patient to patient depending on the amount of weight the patient needs to lose.






 The goals of this program are:


  • Control eating stimuli through use of partial meal replacement diet
  • Patients achieve weight loss over a moderate amount of time
  • Patients learn healthy eating habits and patterns
